FAMILY ANNOUNCEMENTSLatest Story Victor Hernandez and his wife Kelly write...... Cousin, Lucy (Araiza) Kerklaan reports that Ben's mother passed away shortly after the Anniversary requiring his immediate return to the Netherlands. Ben, we send you our prayers and deepest regrets! Lucy also told me that Rudy Araiza had surgery for gallstones upon his return to California. Rudy, OUCH!!! We hope you get well soon! Tere reports that we have nuptials to convey. Joey, Oscar's son, married on August 14 to his bride Karen and her son Colin. Immediately after they acquired their new home, at 6101 Los Robles, El Paso, TX 79912. Congratulations Joey, we wish you and your new family the best! In the same breath, Tere reports that Adrian, the son of Lydia, Tony's youngest daughter won a trophy "almost bigger than him" for sparring. It is part of his karate training. He was so happy and Lydia, Tony and Camille were so proud. As well they should be, "Go Get Um Champ!" He was wearing his black Karate outfit and he "looked so cute." Tere says she will send some pictures of these two events for all of us to see. Mary Louise & Walt Diedrich, affectionately known to the California clan as "Auntie and Uncle Walt" sent some great photos most of which I have added to the site. Thanks, it was a tremendeous contribution to the site, especially the Sister's pictures! They report that they will be traveling throughout the United States shortly, coming south for the winter. In Texas we call people who do that "Winter Texans" or "Snowbirds." Tony and Camille want to relay that their granddaughter, Mandy's team won the "3by3" contest in soccer play offs held in El Paso and consequently were invited to play in San Diego the last week of June. They now are invited to go to Florida in January of 2000. The team consist of 6 & 7 year old girls. Big Congrats to Mandy and her team mates! If anybody has a couple of First Class tic's to Florida, soon to be expired, I'm sure they could really use those! Two bits of news come out of El Paso for the week of October 3, 1999. Tony underwent surgery on Thursday on his feet. It appears that Tony is doing well after his operation. Latest Story News Flash from San Diego: Fernie Kennedy reports that "After we returned from Grand Canyon on Oct 4, 1999 Nancy on her way to work got hit on the freeway and wrecked her car. She is fine and I got to keep her home for a week just to make sure she was going to be ok. The car is being repaired . So you never know what will happen from one day to next." A lesson learned for all of us, WATCH OUT FOR THE OTHER GUY! We can't be too careful, even in our regular routine. Personally, since I was a little shaver, I have always admired how Fernie and Nancy loved each other! It's always been very apparent to me at least, especially when they are on the dance floor! We wish you a speedy recovery Nancy! |
